HEADLEY Cricket Club will be making a day of it this Sunday (July 16) when they host the finals of the Stevens Cup and Pope Cup – the I’Anson’s knockout competitions.

The Pope Cup match between Division Two sides Tongham and Elstead starts at 12.30pm and a barbecue will run from then onwards.

The bar will be open all day and profits made on the outside bar will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.

A kids playground will help make it a good family day out and there will be cricket equipment in the nets for any children wanting to give the sport a try.

The Pope Cup final is followed by the main Stevens Cup match between Puttenham, the holders, and Grayswood, the I’Anson Division One leaders. It promises to be a cracking game between two very strong sides.

There is ample parking at the spacious Headley playing fields and spectators will be welcome to enjoy the cricket and the other attractions.
