FARNHAM 2nd XI gained a fighting draw to remain sixth in the division and leave Weybridge II bottom with seven games to go (Surrey Championship 2nd XI Premier).
Two rain breaks reduced the game to a maximum of 86 overs. Weybridge began well and after a stand of 75 between Tim Cross – top scorer with 69 – and Shane White was broken by leg-spinner Saaj Patel, Farnham did well to restrict the home side to 200-7.
Ollie Godden (21) and Will Davies (44) steered Farnham to 52-2 in reply before a mini slump put them in trouble. Davies and Adam Elstow (39) ground out a partnership and Toby Elstow (18 not out) did his bit.
Then spinner Leo Methley caused another collapse and the last pair of Jamie Jones and young Toby Elstow had to survive 12 balls to ensure the draw.
