CHRIS Gayle once hit 50 off 12 balls. Puttenham 2nd XI player Mudassar Khan was not far behind the great West Indies batsman when he reached 50 off 15 balls in the I’Anson Division Four match against Grafham & Smithbrook.
There had already been a century in the match, with Abdr Rehman hitting 104 for leaders Grafham before retiring. His brother, Umar Rehman, supported with 54 and Grafham made a sporting declaration at 228-7 from 35 overs.
Puttenham went off like an express train, with opener Mudassar smashing five sixes and five fours before being caught for 52.
Ali Raza followed up with a quickfire 49 and then Khush Subhani (64 not out) and Nick Brett (41 not out) took over as Puttenham powered to 232-3 in only 32 overs. It was only a second defeat of the season for Grafham.
