Rowledge secured a comfortable 86-run win at home to relegation-threatened Basingstoke & North Hants in Division One of the Southern Premier Cricket League.

The hosts won the toss and batted first. Openers Zac Le Roux and Archie Redfern got Rowledge off to a solid start, putting on 66 for the first wicket before Redfern was bowled by Matt Deadman for 28.

Le Roux went past his half-century before he was bowled by Abdullah Abid (three for 37) for 52, but Jontie Sebborn kept the momentum going with an excellent 69.

Olly Ryman (34) and Ollie Southon (15) added quick runs, but Deadman (three for 40) bowled an excellent closing spell as Rowledge finished on 233 for eight.

Southon bowled a fiery opening spell and dismissed Basingstoke’s top four to leave the visitors in disarray at 33 for four.

Thomas Dyer (40 not out) and Deadman (19) offered some resistance, but spinners Ollie Baker and Redfern contained the run rate while David Lloyd (four for 31) ripped through Basingstoke’s middle and lower order.

Alastair Brown’s 24 only delayed the inevitable result, and Southon (five for 13) returned to finish the innings off and complete his five-for, with the visitors bowled out for 147.

Rowledge move up to third place in the league, while Basingstoke have severe relegation worries with only two games left to play.

Rowledge’s second team lost by 278 runs at Burridge’s second team. The hosts scored 344 for eight before bowling Rowledge out for 66.

Rowledge’s third team beat Old Basing’s third team by eight wickets. Evan Woodhouse took three for 33 as Rowledge restricted the visitors to 190 for eight. Nathan Valler (67), Riad Nicholson (29), Ethan Grist (54 not out) and Oli Eaton (34 not out) made short work of the run chase.
