FARNHAM Road Club held their traditional New Year’s Day 10-mile time trial in mild and calm conditions.

A small and select field of five solo riders and one tandem competed over the A31 bypass course. Jim Brown and Michael Rice were the timekeepers, supported by Nigel Bicknell and Jim Parker.

The morning’s fastest rider was Chris Newman of the host club in 24mins 23secs, followed by Charlotteville CC members Peter Franks in 24-46 and Matt Butler in 25-00.

Stuart Willis (Farnham RC) claimed fourth place in 25-46.

The tandem of Robert Allen and Paul Charman (Farnham RC) finished in 26-10 and Roger Chapman (Farnham RC) completed the results with 26-19.
