HANWORTH VILLA 4, BADSHOT LEA 0

AFTER back-to-back wins, there was a reality check for Badshot Lea on Saturday as they were well beaten by Hanworth Villa who are strong contenders for runners-up behind Hartley Wintney, champions-elect of the Combined Counties League.

A buffeting wind made life difficult for both sides and although Levi King put Hanworth ahead on nine minutes with a blistering free-kick, the Baggies were still in the game at half-time, trailing 1-0.

However, two goals in two minutes soon after the restart put the game beyond Badshot Lea. King got his second and Tom Neale then beat Brendan Norris with an audacious scissors-kick.

Substitute Jessie Atiase made it 4-0 with almost his first touch of the ball and, just to round off their day, Badshot Lea finished the game with ten men.

Badshot Lea host Sutton Common at Ash United’s ground this Saturday.

BADSHOT Lea took a massive step towards safety on Tuesday, thanks to two late goals from talisman Benga Ogunseye.

Skipper James Pilgrim put the Baggies in front from a free-kick.

Chertsey equalised after half-time, with Connor Young crossing for fellow substitute John Conroy to score.

The game seemed to be heading for a draw, but Ogunseye struck in the 85th minute and, with Chertsey pushing for an equaliser, the high-scoring forward grabbed his second to seal the points.
