TWO of Europe’s biggest clubs grace Aldershot Town’s EBB Stadium tomorrow (Friday) as their academy sides compete in the Premier League International Cup.

Bayern Munich and FC Porto meet in a Group E clash in the tournament which features the academies of 12 English teams and 12 elite sides from across Europe. Kick-off is 7.05pm and admission is £3 for adults and £1 for concessions.

Bayern have already beaten Reading in their only group game so far, while FC Porto have also beaten the Royals, but lost to the current group leaders, Arsenal.

Bayern’s team may feature up to ten players with first-team experience, including 18-year-old striker Manuel Wintzheimer, named in their UEFA Champions League squad and hailed as ‘the next Robert Lewandowski’, and midfielder Fabian Benko, 19, tipped as a future star by Pep Guardiola during his time at the Allianz Arena.

FC Porto’s B squad also features many youth internationals, including four players named in the Team of the Tournament at the 2017 UEFA U19 Championships, in which Portugal lost to England in the final. Defender Diogo Dalot is reportedly a target for both Real Madrid and Barcelona, while winger Wenderson Galeno is considered one of Brazil’s best young players.
