FLEET’S biggest annual community event, the Fleet Pre-London Half Marathon, celebrates 35 years in 2016.
On March 20, more than 3,000 runners, including many fund-raisers, will hit the streets of Fleet.
Fund-raising this year is particularly important for the organisers, Fleet and Crookham AC, who are aiming to create a purpose-built facility, mainly for its junior section, at a cost of £400,000.
Race director Penny Abbott has invited more local businesses to become involved. She said: “We would welcome new partners who wish to benefit from the excellent publicity and positive exposure available with this nationally renowned event.”
Many of the club’s existing partners have supported the race for years and are continuing in 2016.
Any interested companies can contact Penny Abbott by email at [email protected]
Founded in 1981, the race has raised tens of thousands of pounds for charity and brought elite competition to Fleet. Each year, thousands of people line the streets to cheer and support the runners.
