AN ALDERSHOT Town Legends team, including manager Barry Smith and assistant Chris Barker, plus Mark Butler and Jason Chewins, will play an Alton Town Vets team at the Bass Sports Ground on Thursday (Nov 26), kicking off at 7.30pm.
They will be competing for the John McGinty Cup, named after the late John McGinty, an Alton resident, who was a respected chairman of Aldershot Town FC.
Mark Butler, Aldershot Town’s all-time leading goal scorer, and record appearance maker Jason Chewins, also from Alton, will be joined by Steve Stairs, Stuart Udal, David Puckett, Darren Robson, goalkeeper Mark Watson and others at the Bass Sports Ground which is due to close soon as the club prepares for a move back to Anstey Park.
Admission to the game is free.
