THE weather was kind and the course in good condition for Cowdray Park Ladies’ first big event of the year, the two-day Spring Meeting.

Forty ladies played a Stableford on the Monday and the results were:

Group 1 – 1st, Jill Parry (36 pts); 2nd, Ann Tyrrell (35); 3rd, Tessa Stockwell (35). Group 2: 1st, Jo Fife (39 pts); 2nd, Gaynor Dudman (35); 3rd, Margaret Hoare (35). Group 3: 1st, Ann Laver (39 pts); 2nd, Julia Kelly (38); 3rd, Sandra Barber (36). Nearest Pin: 9th – Angela Pike; 11th – Gaynor Dudman.

Texas Scramble (April 4) results: 1st Tee – 1st, Sandra Barber, Tessa Stockwell, Anne Laver, Judith Brownlee (net 69); 2nd, Lil Cummins, Jenny Clegg, Sue Morris, Janet Poat (net 72.8). 10th Tee – ­ 1st, Jill Parry, Mandy Lucking, Amanda Paddle, Brenda Brennan (net 66.1); 2nd, Caroline Haynes, Joyce Fanshawe, Helen Chapman, Ann Tyrrell (net 68.3).

Cowards Seniors

Cowdray Park Seniors lost narrowly, 31/2-21/2, in their away match against Bognor Regis.
