STARTERS Colin Smith, on the first tee, and Mike Tiddy, on the 10th, sent off 52 players in Farnham Golf Club Ladies’ Spring Meeting last week.
The medal event in the morning was followed after lunch by a Texas Scramble which had 40 entrants, sent on their way by starter Bob Young.
Many helpers ensured the day was a success, in particular Mary Dainton, Pauline Stock, Sonia Young, Beverley Rose and the staff of the professional’s shop.
The prize-giving followed dinner. Sandra Combstock and Pamela Bothwell won the Silver and Bronze scratch prizes respectively and Carole Thomas and Debbie Hardiman were the Bronze and Silver handicap winners.
The Maple Leaf inter-club competition is for players with handicaps from 25 to 36 and is played from October to March, with the final at North Hants Golf Club.
Farnham Ladies battled through to last week’s final and beat Windlesham 3-2 to win the competition.
