A team of young athletes from Haslemere Swimming Club braved the heat to journey to Dorking Sports Centre to compete in round two of the Rother Swimming League.

The team comprised boys and girls aged ten to 18 and they were required to compete in all four strokes, along with the individual medley.

There was fierce competition from Godalming, Dorking and Rushmoor Royals swimming clubs and spirits were high as the swimmers warmed up and got race ready.

The team spirit from the young swimmers was admirable, with each race not only bringing fast and furious swimming but also a chorus of cheers from the whole squad.

As the events drew to a close and the winners were announced, their voices nearly took the roof off as Haslemere were announced winners.

A special mention goes to the under-14 girls’ team who won every event and also the IM trophy.
