FARNHAM stars are preparing to play international roller hockey round Europe.

Lelani Petzer has been selected for the England squad for the Under-17 UERH Nations Cup in Vordenwald, Switzerland. The cup started on Thursday and finishes today (Sunday).

Fourteen-year-old Lelani plays for Farnham’s under-15 team, as well as their Senior B and Senior Ladies sides.

Tilly King, 23, and Hannah Sollars, 17, have been named in the England squad for the Senior UERH Nations Cup which will be held in Walsum, Germany, from March 24 to 27.

Tilly is Farnham’s Senior A team and Senior Ladies squad goalkeeper and has represented England a number of times, but this is Hannah’s first call up at this level.

She previously represented England under-17s in Molfetta, Italy, in 2019.

Hannah plays for Farnham’s Senior Ladies team as well as turning out for Ely and Chesterton United at senior and under-20 levels.

Tilly, from Maidstone, started playing for her home-town side stone, but has represented the Farnham Senior team for the past few seasons.

Farnham recently put together a Senior Ladies team and entered the National Cup.

Thanks to a favourable draw, they have received a bye to the final, which is in Herne Bay on Saturday, June 11.

They will be up against either Ely & Chesterton United or Middlesbrough.

The Senior A team have won five of their six games in the regional league and sit top of the table.

Earlier this month they staged a tournament in Farnham and beat Herne Bay I 4-2, the Farnham Senior B team 9-2 and Herne Bay II 3-2.

Tilly King was in excellent form, managing to save seven out of seven penalties and direct free hits.

Farnham also run teams at under-13 and under-15 levels in the regional league as well as seniors squads.

They train at Farnham Leisure Centre most Sundays, and run sessions at other venues around the area throughout the week.
