TOP snooker professional Barry Hawkins was the special guest at the Farnham Billiards & Snooker League’s annual presentations night last Friday.
Ranked number 14 in the work, and a former number 4, Barry was happy to drink a cup of tea and chat with anyone before the start of the action at Lindford Club.
He played one-frame matches against the league’s top break-makers of last season and showed how the game should be played with a break of 85 in the very first game.
He also played the winners of two prize draws, Tom Phillips of Farnham Conservatice Club and Ken Scott, chairman of the Farnham League.
Barry also played a game of billiards, first to 100, against the league’s highest break winner, Martin Wells of Farnham Conservatives.
The pro had never played billiards before and Martin took advantage to gain a notable win. Barry won all his snooker matches on a highly enjoyable evening.
