BIG-time rugby is coming to Wilkinson Way, the home of Farnham Rugby Club.

The ground at Monkton Lane, which is more used to hosting progressive Farnham’s London 2 South West fixtures, is preparing to welcome some big hitters at the end of December.

The occasion is a clash between Gallagher Premiership sides Harlequins and Bath United in the south pool of the Premiership Rugby Shield on Friday, December 28.

It’s the fifth round of matches, with Harlequins having already won three of their opening four games.

Farnham and Harlequins already have a long-standing association on and off the field, with the Surrey club regularly providing the venue for Quins’ community camps and other grassroots initiatives.

And two members of Harlequins’ senior playing squad, James Chisholm and Max Crumpton, coach the Farnham first team.

For the game, there will be no entry fee on the day but Farnham will charge for car parking and matchday programmes.
