Rushmoor Knights lost 33-17 at home to Cambridgeshire Cats in their final British American Football Premiership South game of the season.

The Cats scored first on their second drive following a turnover after Harvey Macey had fumbled to give the visitors good field advantage. Quarterback Ben Lowes handed the ball to Mari Merrell who ran in from ten yards to the right.

A change of quarterback for the Cats, to Liam Allen, gave them a more direct approach. His long throwing ability found Aaron Wheatley deep in the end zone 30 yards away. After failing the first point after touchdown, Lowes’ quick pass to Allen made the extra two points to make it 14-0.

Harry Cousins impressed with his excellent punting, putting the Cats on their own two-yard line.

At the two-minute warning the Cats had to punt from their end zone. James Owen returned the ball to the ten-yard line and, although quarterback Joshua Lockwood's run found the end zone, it was pulled back for a holding call.

The Knights secured their first touchdown as Lockwood found an open Bradley Jay. Addullahi Jama added the point after touchdown to make it 14-7 at half-time.

In the third quarter, Allen handed off to Merrell for a repeat of the opening score.

The Knights began their next drive on the halfway line after a fine kick-off return by Justice Schwerdtner, he also had two catches to set up Cousins for a 27-yard field goal to make it 20-10.

Allen's strong arm found Wheatley, with Merrell completing his hat-trick to make it 26-10.

In the final quarter, Lockwood was intercepted by M-Kah Bell who took the pick six all the way. The Cats finally kicked a point after touchdown, with Tyler Bennett making it 33-10.

A late rally saw the Knights score a consolation, with Lockwood passing to Macey.
