Whitehill Archers’ members enjoyed their annual fun Easter Shoot.

Organised by club social secretary Steve Cloake, there were four teams and a variety of Easter-themed targets with emphasis on a fun rather than a traditional scoring system.

As always, although this was a light-hearted event, there was plenty of competition between teams fighting to win Easter egg prizes.

Steve provided a twist to the event by adding an additional archery competition at the end – which led to teams either adding to or reducing the scores for other teams. There was also a barbecue and home-made desserts.

The next planned events will be a Wand Shoot and a fun Hallowe’en Shoot.

The club will hold their second beginners’ course of the year on Sunday, May 28 and plan to run further courses throughout the summer. These courses are open to all those age eight years old and above and those with disabilities are welcome.

Based in Whitehill, the club have approximately 50 members ranging from age 11 to 80 and the club host a number of record status competitions throughout the year plus fun events.

The club are open to all members of the community and have helped people with various disabilities, including blindness, enjoy archery.

Disabled toilet facilities are available and the field is accessible to those who are unable to walk.
