A 58-year-old man from Ash has been arrested in connection with the alleged racist attack on elderly Gurkha veterans in Aldershot.

Hampshire Police said the man was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault, affray, criminal damage, and racially aggravated public order offences. He remains in custody.

The arrest follows an incident at Municipal Gardens in Aldershot on the evening of Monday, June 16, when officers were called at 7.24pm to reports of a man causing damage, assaulting members of the public and being racially abusive.
