POLICE officers have offered to meet with agencies to discuss “further crime prevention tactics” to help prevent future damage to the 4,000-year-old burial mound at Whitehill Village Hall.

It comes after a resident blamed the issue on police “inaction”, as previously reported in last week’s Herald.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said officers from the neighbourhood team have “liaised with various agencies and given advice in relation to ongoing protection for the burial mound” in Bordon.

“It appears that from the roadside, there is no visible signage warning the public that the mound is a heritage area and there are no physical obstacles preventing anyone from driving onto the grassed area,” they said.
