MORE than 100 people turned out in force for Bordon’s Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile at Mill Chase Leisure Centre.

’Milers’ of all ages were sponsored to walk or run themselves proud around laps of the 4G pitch.

The day was described as a “massive success” with friends and families joining together to go the extra mile for Sport Relief 2016.

DJ Dave Brown inspired people with his selection of upbeat songs.

The Air Cadets sang and danced their way around the course, while also helping to run the event.

The barbecue and cake sale made about £200, and once all the sponsorship money is collected it was anticipated that more than £1,000 will have been raised. Places for People Leisure also hosted a Swimathon, with some people participating in both events.

Sue Lewis, from Mill Chase Leisure Centre, said: “It was a fantastic day. Watching the community come together to support such a great cause was brilliant. We feel proud knowing the money raised here today will help people living unimaginably tough lives here in Hampshire, across the UK and in some of the world’s poorest countries.”
