FLEXIBLE workspace pioneers SiGNAL in Bordon has signed a deal to double its size.

SiGNAL is taking on Chieftain House – which is close to its base in Martinique House in Hampshire Road – to add another 4,000sq ft of office and co-working space.

SiGNAL manages a range of workspaces for local property owners, from the usual office spaces to studios, workshops and a distillery.

It rents the spaces on flexible terms to local entrepreneurs – and adds support services to try to accelerate business success.

After signing the new lease with property developers Abri, SiGNAL managing director Emma Selby said: “We are seeing a great deal of demand for flexible workspace at the moment as larger businesses adapt to the new trend of hybrid working.

“Lots of businesses that started at home fulfilling online orders have really grown as a result of lockdown restrictions to the point that managing them from home is no longer viable.

“Our workspaces at SiGNAL have remained full throughout all three lockdowns and we have been looking to expand for a while.

“We are really excited to open up our new space.

“The property at Chieftain House is perfect for us – office space that can be easily divided and sub-let and the location is right opposite SiGNAL, connected by an underpass.

“Business owners come to SiGNAL for low-risk, flexible terms – these are very important to small businesses right now.

“They are also attracted to the communal atmosphere, the training and support and the ethos of small businesses working together to succeed.

“This sense of community and shared purpose has been especially valuable to our tenants over the lockdowns.

“The new offices will offer a mix of medium-sized offices and open-plan micro offices, as well as access to a large boardroom.

“The offices are in the same building as the very popular 1759 coffee shop.

“All tenants will become a part of the lively business community that we have over the road.

“We have three exciting new tenants moving in right away, and we can’t wait to welcome them to our community!

“SiGNAL also expects to be opening a large new workshop space this summer, and is on track to move into new premises in the new Bordon town centre in 2022 as well.”
