A BY-ELECTION will be held in August to fill four vacant seats on Whitehill Town Council.

One of the seats was left vacant after the shock resignation of Adam Carew after he lost his place as leader of the town council's Liberal Democrats.

Mark Davison, Brian Desmond and Gina Hopkins also resigned, prompting the August 8 by-election.

The deadline for nominations is noon on July 12.
