A PICTURE of the three community buildings currently being fitted out at the Hogmoor Inclosure has been released by the Whitehill & Bordon Community Trust.

Due to open in late spring, they will feature an education room where people can learn about native wildlife, public toilets including a Changing Places facility, and a community café.

Outside will be a community garden, where local people can grow food that will be served in the café, an outdoor learning space and a free car park.

Members of the public have been encouraged to have a say about what happens at the site by attending a community consultation there on March 9-10. Groups interested in running events and activities in the inclosure can find out more by going to open days on February 1 and 2.

Hannah Ashwell – manager of the trust, a charity which will complete the interior work on the buildings and then run them – described the project as “a fantastic opportunity to create an inclusive and accessible place for people to come together and explore our natural environment”.

The trust will operate the buildings, built last year by the Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company, on behalf of the community. Funding for their construction came from Section 106 developer contributions awarded by East Hampshire District Council, with support from the Power to Change Bright Ideas Fund, working with Locality.
