HE’S used to leading a merry dance and making lots of noise at East Hampshire District Council – and now councillor Steve Hunt has put his skills to good use with Alton Morris too!

Cllr Hunt, leader of the Lib Dem opposition at the Tory run council, enjoyed his first ‘dance out’ with Alton Morris on Saturday.

The Morris dancers performed two half-hour sets with music to a good crowd in Market Square at the Christmas market.

And there were plenty of takers for the final ‘joining in dance’ who all enjoyed the fun dance.

The local Morris side has gone from strength to strength this year with many new recruits, both musicians and dancers.

Cllr Hunt said: “Morris dancing is the absolute remedy for a stressful day.

“I go along to practice tired, but after a couple of hours of music and dancing feel completely rejuvenated.”

Alton Morris are a mixed Border Side, meaning that all genders can join.
