A COUPLE from Farnham were seriously injured following a major collision on the A3 north of Petersfield.
A 61-year-old man was airlifted to hospital on Sunday, December 30, after suffering neck injuries in a two-car collision near Liss.
A female passenger, with possible head and neck injuries, was also freed from the wreckage by firefighters.
Emergency services were forced to temporarily close the A3 following the midday crash near the Liss and Flexcombe junction.
The couple were heading toward Petersfield in a white Toyota Aygo when they were in collision with a black Fiat Stilo.
The Fiat driver, a 48-year-old woman from London, was unhurt.
Firefighters from Petersfield and Bordon used cutting equipment to free the passenger and the 49-year-old woman was taken to hospital by ambulance.
The man was said to be in a stable condition, according to Southampton General Hospital staff early this week.
