THE Whitehill and Bordon eco-station was unveiled officially on Saturday – an event that has been described as a "massive landmark" in the history of the town.
The eco-station, which includes in its grounds an eco-living show house, was opened by Downton Abbey star Hugh Bonneville, who plays Lord Grantham in the hit ITV1 period drama.
The event was so well attended, with around 1,000 visitors, that extra tours of the newly-built Exhibition House had to be arranged.
"I had a fascinating day learning about the plans and seeing the Exhibition House," said Mr Bonneville.
"It was wonderful that so many residents came to see what's being developed here and they were really impressed, as was I."
