MORE than 100 visitors celebrated the town eco-station first birthday by taking part in a host of activities on Saturday.

Children and adults had fun practising their circus skills, including unicycling, diablos and juggling.

Bordon's eco-station was opened last October by Downton Abbey star Hugh Bonneville and has hosted a wide variety of events over the past 12 months.

People took their bikes to Saturday's party for a free safety check from Dr Bike, made smoothies using pedal power, and enjoyed local ice cream.

Children took part in arts and crafts to attract wildlife into their gardens, with Deadwater Valley Trust staff, and learned about the town's history with the heritage society.

David Parkinson, East Hampshire District Council's portfolio holder for planning, said: "What a wonderful event. I hope that everyone enjoyed the day."
