THE Government has unveiled plans for the biggest education shake-up in decades, which will see GCSEs scrapped and English Baccalaureate Certificates introduced.

The changes will come into effect from autumn 2015, with the first batch of students sitting exams in the summer of 2017.

While most people agree there is need for reform, two education experts who teach pupils from the Bordon area have expressed concerns about the new scheme, questioning whether it is old fashioned and in danger of creating a two-tier system.
