This year’s event, which took place last Saturday at Forest Community Centre in Bordon, was the biggest yet, with more than 40 individuals and organisations providing free entertainment and activities for residents of the town and surrounding areas.
“The fun day is about bringing together the community and we are thrilled with the number of people who turned out to enjoy the free activities,” Claire Coxwell, volunteer event co-ordinator, said.
“So many families were getting involved, whether it was trying out judo, designing Christmas cards or getting up close to a bird of prey. We hope to see everyone again next year.”
The event was considered “a resounding success” by stallholders and residents alike, with attendees learning about local activities on offer in Whitehill and Bordon.
“We were delighted to have Mayor Colin Leach, of Whitehill Town Council, join us for most of the day,”
Ms Coxwell added: “He had his work cut out for him with judging the various competitions, as well as meeting all the stallholders and chatting to residents.”
Planning is already under way for next year’s fun day, which will be held on August 11.
