AN urban street market at Bordon’s Prince Philip Barracks on Saturday tickled the taste buds of people who attended to sample top food and great music.

Market goers enjoyed international cuisine with lots of food stalls and flavours, including homemade ravioli, Bombay street food, Rkdia polish food, American street food and Brazilian churros. The day was complete with live music.

“It was great to see so many people at this unique street market,” said Naomi Metcalfe, community development officer at the town-based Whitehill and Bordon Regeneration Company, which is developing the barracks in Budds Lane.

“We want to provide events that build upon the existing community spirit and encourage people to come together. Many of those who attended have recently moved to Bordon and they were delighted to have such a well-organised event on their doorstep, and at such a reasonable price.”

The Regeneration Company teamed up with Radian, which is developing the Quebec Barracks site, to put on the event.
