THE Whitehill and Bordon Regeneration Company formally opened the rebuilt Bordon and Oakhanger Sports Club last Saturday, with former England cricketer Phil Tufnell bowling up to mark the occasion.

“The launch of the Bordon and Oakhanger Sports Club (BOSC) marked a significant day for the regeneration work taking place in the area,” James Child, project lead at the Regeneration Company told the Bordon Herald.

“Mixed-use facilities, such as the BOSC, offer communities a hub to stay active, socialise and celebrate. It has been a key aim, as part of our Healthy Town status, to ensure that we are creating high-quality provision for this.

“On the day, we were joined by many members of the community in celebrating the historic importance and value that a facility such as this brings to the area.

“England cricket team legend Phil Tufnell joined us in officially opening the facility, with live music and creative displays taking place throughout the day, many of which stemmed from local groups and clubs.

“In a day of total celebration, we came together to set a precedent for the what the BOSC can - and will - mean for all who use it.”
