A FORMER Bordon teacher is due to appear in court today in connection with 46 alleged sex offences.
Timothy Bleach, 76, of Hazel Walk, Petersfield, is set to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court having been charged in February with numerous offences, including rape, gross indecency and indecent assault. He is expected to enter a plea.
The offences relate to alleged acts involving six girls under the age of 13 in the 1970s, when Mr Bleach was working as a teacher at Weyford Junior School in Bordon.
The charges form part of Hampshire Constabulary’s ongoing review of non-recent child sexual exploitation and abuse cases, following a national police action plan on such cases and a request, by the police and crime commissioner, to examine the situation locally. The review includes a re-examination of evidence, and the offer of support, with partner agencies, to those affected by child sexual exploitation and abuse.
