THANKS to a last-minute plea by Karen Lynch - the Lindford resident fighting to save the village's Royal Exchange pub - East Hampshire District Council's Community Forum agreed to give a grant of up to £1,500 to the campaign.
At the meeting last month, the proposal for district council help to save the village's only pub was nearly lost because of confusion over the way the proposal had been sectioned into two parts in the agenda.
This left forum members unsure of what they were voting on.
