THE charity Community First is organising a drop-in coffee morning for non-profit-making groups, with an emphasis on funding, on January 27.
At the event, at Bordon’s Forest Community Centre from 11am to 1.30pm, volunteers and staff from East Hampshire charities will be able to grab a coffee and a slice of cake while they talk to one of Community First’s development workers about their funding needs.
“There are a wide range of local grants, national trust funds and lottery schemes available,” said Claire Coxwell from Community First, which is organising the event.
“With so much information out there, it can be difficult for groups to know which funds are best for their needs.
“We can guide them through the available processes and even check funding applications when they are completed.”
The coffee and cash event is part of a programme of sessions being offered by Community Solutions’ Whitehill and Bordon Community Network, which aims to help local non-profit-making organisations to get to know each other better, share resources and work more effectively together.
The Community Solutions service is part of the charity Community First, which aims to support voluntary and community organisations to develop and become stronger.
“As Whitehill and Bordon develops, it will become even more important for the area to have active charities and community groups to support the new population which will move into the town,” said Ms Coxwell.
“We hope that events like this will make it easier for organisations to access the funds they require.”
There is no need to book for the Coffee and Cash meeting.
