THE Bordon Garrison commander expressed his gratitude to the town community at Monday's annual flag-raising ceremony. Speaking on behalf of Bordon's Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Colonel Mike Pendlington said: "I feel there is a close and special relationship between the armed forces community and the communities of Whitehill and Bordon. "We appreciate very much the help and support that we get from the local people and the local authorities." The garrison commander also formally opened the Woolmer Forest Heritage Society's exhibition at the Forest Community Centre, displaying D-Day military memorabilia from the Bordon area.
