A PLAN to transform a neglected meadow behind a Petersfield superstore into a treasured green oasis isn’t dead in the water.
Leo Cheung and Iris Wong told the Petersfleld Society last Monday they are making progress with their ‘Water Meadow to People Meadow’ scheme.
A committee heard on September 4 that landowners Tesco have shown little interest recently in transferring the water meadow area behind their Causeway branch to the town.

But progress is being made as landscape architect Leo and colleague Iris will soon call on the public’s help as there’s “more to come” regarding the opening-up of the site to people and wildlife.
“We’ve had initial conversations with Tesco and we’re putting together a fuller proposal into getting the land transferred,” said Leo after accepting a commendation for the project.
