Wave hello to the town’s new £4 million aqua-adventure zone – coming soon to Whitehill & Bordon Leisure Centre.
This week, East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) released images of the new park – and water-wonderful one it looks like.

Work is set to start soon on the aquatic adventure zone, which will give children and young people across the region the chance to have fun and become water confident.
The extension will include a splash pad, water slides and interactive water features.
Cllr Andy Tree, EHDC portfolio holder for Whitehill & Bordon, said he was thrilled to see the new designs – although he could not confirm whether he would be the first person down the slides.

“The images released by Everyone Active look amazing and really give residents a clear idea of what our community will be getting,” he said.
“I am very excited to be announcing this update as it demonstrates to my fellow residents across the Whitehill & Bordon area our commitment at EHDC to deliver results, which is what we are elected as local councillors to do.
“It will not only be a great benefit to young families in Whitehill & Bordon, it will also attract visitors from outside the area – boosting our local economy.”

The council has agreed to dedicate £4 million to the project using a range of funding sources, including developer contributions that must be spent on leisure facilities.
Cllr Tree added: “The leisure centre is the only building owned by EHDC in the new town centre area that we directly oversee to improve.”
Other proposed features include interactive water play equipment, shallow splash areas for younger children, water slides and supporting changing and plant facilities.
An EHDC spokesperson said the town’s current swimming facilities at Whitehill & Bordon Leisure Centre were well-used, but there was limited provision in East Hampshire for informal, play-based water activities.
