The fundraising efforts of brothers Jeremy and Martin Holmes have resulted in a cheque for £550 being given to the Portsmouth Hospitals Charity Cancer Services Fund.

The money was raised at the recent Easter charity market held at The Petersfield School.

Jeremy runs both the Easter and Christmas charity markets with the help of his brother and other volunteers. Money was raised from the profit on stall rents, a raffle, the book and bric-a-brac stall and a home-made cake stall.

Michelle Bowdidge, fundraising manager at Portsmouth Hospitals, said it was another fantastic result and thanked everyone who has supported the Easter charity market.

“We really appreciate your continued support,” she said.

The popular Easter and Christmas charity markets have now been held for more than 30 years and raised thousands of pounds for local charities and a number of major hospital appeals at the QA Hospital in Cosham.
