THE Bordon Inclosure has come alive thanks to a group of green-minded conservationists and a caring council who have worked to transform the 60-acre site into a walkers’ paradise, decorated with sculptures, and a place where children make up their own adventures in a woodland play area.

Historically the site was an Army training ground, and their departure provided an opportunity to transform the site for people and wildlife.
Now money from new housing development in the town has footed a £900,000 bill for the work that has seen vegetation and some trees cleared to open up the wood, and the creation of six circular routes around the area with seating, a boarded walkway and new paths.
There is also a woodland play area with logs and earth mounds for children to climb, and bushes and trees where they can play imaginative games.
