TWO doctors’ surgeries have a new piece of kit thanks to a fundraising group and £500 from Cllr Richard Millard.
Headley member Cllr Millard, who leads East Hampshire District Council, was approached for a grant by the Patient Participation Group, which has raised £28,000 to buy medical equipment for the surgeries through district council grants, donations and events.
Dr Helen Sherrell received the cheque from group members and chairman Yvonne Parker Smith, who said: “Forest Surgery has been the hub for Covid vaccinations and has carried this out wonderfully well. We are lucky to have such wonderful surgeries in Bordon and Headley and we try to raise funds for equipment, which is not funded by the NHS, which benefits the patients.”
Cllr Millard said: “I was happy to use some of my councillor grant to pay for this fabulous piece of kit. It will really help the doctors in their work and will be a great help to patients who might otherwise have had to go to hospital to get minor skin blemishes examined properly.
“Well done to the PPG for their continued support of our surgeries. They do incredible work alongside the local doctors and NHS professionals to help keep our residents safe and healthy.”
