OAKHANGER celebrated May Day with the whole village out in force for the May Fayre.
May Queen Kaitlyn Nicholson and her two senior attendants Charlotte King and Madeline Lucus arrived in style in a Rolls-Royce.
The retiring May Queen from 2019, Neve Randall, crowned Kaitlyn and handed out gifts, and Aurelia King presented Neve with a bouquet.
There was entertainment from the Alton Morris dancers, the Knickerbockerglory Appalachian dancers, and 16 children dancing round the maypole. There was a barbecue and a bar, cakes in the village hall and lots of stalls.

The event celebrates May Day and raises funds to help run the village hall. This year’s proceeds were about £3,000.
Oakhanger’s next big event is the village show and flower show on August 7.
