THE manager of Bordon’s Forest Community Centre made a sad admission when she said: “It is surprising just how many people don’t know we are here.”

Not knowing of the existence of the centre is also a sad loss for those who have not yet experienced the amazing variety of events, classes and educational opportunities this important community centre has to offer, said Lindsay Kelly.

This is in addition to transforming itself, once a month, into a cinema where viewers can enjoy a meal or a snack to match the theme of the film they are watching.

The idea of having a centre designed for the people of the town was born when the Whitehill and Bordon Community Association was formed and took charge of the community centre when it opened in 1988. The association’s management committee made is up of volunteers.

The association also manages Pinewood Village Hall, on the A325, which has a full programme of activities too.
