DO YOU really need your Winter Fuel Payment?

That’s the question being asked by the Petersfield Lions Club as they’ve launched a campaign to feed and heat some of the town’s less fortunate residents this winter.

Residents who can get by without the handout have been encouraged to donate some or all the payment to the Lions in the knowledge it will help hungry and cold residents.

They will pass on the proceeds to Citizens Advice East Hampshire (Petersfield) and the Petersfield Food Bank so help will go directly where it’s needed.

“There are local people who really are in need of help, not only to keep the heating turned on, but also keep food on the table,” said a spokesperson for the group.

“Please consider donating some or all of your payment to the Petersfield Lions Club (CIO) in the certain knowledge that it will be assisting.”

Readers can help by sending a cheque payable to Petersfield Lions Club (CIO), and with WFP on the reverse, to the charity at c/o Winton House, 18 High Street, Petersfield, GU32 3JL.
