A PETITION has been launched to save the beds at Bordon's Chase Community Hospital.
Chase Hospital League of Friends chairman Frank Williams-Thomas said that although there was a commitment in place to retain the hospital itself, there was "no promise" the ward would be kept.
There is a suggestion that a new nursing home will be built in Bordon, where beds would be used instead.
However, there are fears that this development would take a long time to come to fruition and, in the meantime, there is a "serious threat" that the beds will go, he said.
