THE jailing of former Whitehill Town Council clerk Trish Bell, for stealing £162,000 of taxpayers' money, has rekindled turbulence between Liberal Democrat and Conservative councillors.
Animosity between town council leader leader, Liberal Democrat Andy Tree, and former leader, Conservative Adam Carew, reared its head last week with Mr Carew accusing Mr Tree of attempting to "scapegoat" former councillors over the town council's financial turmoil.
The dispute was triggered by a leaflet, issued by the Conservatives and delivered to Whitehill homes in the run up to the recent town council by-elections, which said it was time to "hold the Whitehill and Bordon Liberal Democrats to account".
