A KINGSLEY mum spoke this week about the rising cost of privately renting following a report published by social research charity the Joseph Rowntree Foundation.
The study looked at how the housing market will function in 2040 and estimates that renters will be far more likely to be living in poverty when compared with homeowners.
This is a topic close to the heart of single mother and police officer Charley Dugdale, whose predicament was featured on BBC News at Ten last Monday when she spoke about feeling trapped in unsuitable accommodation.
Ms Dugdale's privately-rented home in Kingsley is, she said, ridden with excessive levels of damp and mould, which has led to her four-year-old son Archie falling ill and having to sleep in her room.
