HAMPSHIRE County Council apologised this week to the owner of the Dhanmondi Indian restaurant, in Whitehill, for the impact recent roadworks have had on his business.

Abdul Hamid, manager of the Dhanmondi, said recent resurfacing work on the A325, outside his restaurant, had caused physical damage to his premises and had affected his turnover.

Mr Hamid said that when the road was closed there was no mention of "access" on the sign, which he said led to him losing business.
