WITH county salt stocks fully replenished and winter highways teams now regularly monitoring road surface temperatures and forecasts, work continues to ensure Hampshire's communities are ready for winter.
Amey, the county council's highway maintenance service provider who carry out winter maintenance work with Hampshire County Council, is offering a free snow shovel to every Hampshire primary school to help keep pathways and outdoor areas clear and usable during snowy and icy conditions.
These shovels are wider and lighter than normal shovels as they are specifically designed to clear snow and ice.
These have already been provided to parish and town councils to ensure communities are resilient during bad weather.
