IT has been a busy autumn for the Headley Scouts and Beavers, with fires, new leaders, and a huge boost in membership.

“Firstly, on Monday, November 7, the 1st Headley Scout Group held a family bonfire evening,” Julie Foster, Beaver leader from the 1st Headley Scout Group, said.

“This enabled us to present four bronze awards, which is the highest badge given to Beavers.

“We also welcomed (invested) three leaders. Unfortunately, one was ill so it should have been four.”

She added, of the week starting November 7: “The Beaver section invested 11 new Beavers, which is quite a big number. Investiture is when young members make their Beaver promise and become members of the Scouting family.”
