On July 21 Whitehill Town Council’s executive committee voted to support the idea of home-made go-karts hurtling down Chalet Hill in the summer of 2023.
Cllr Roger Russell will be the town council representative on the soap box derby committee which will help organiser Gary Newell, with town council leader Cllr Andy Tree as reserve.
SiGNAL was part of the initial discussions but it eventually decided not to put anyone on the soap box committee.
The executive agreed to invite the Whitehill & Bordon Town Partnership and the Whitehill & Bordon Community Trust to join the soap box committee.
Cllr Tree said: “I am really excited about bringing the soap box derby back to Whitehill & Bordon. The last one was a huge amount of fun. Now the hard work begins to make it happen.”
